Review- Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine

Author- Gail Honeyman

Publisher- HarperCollins

Pages- 383

Genre- General fiction.

.

.

.

.This is different, heart warming and funny book.

This book tells two things;

1. Even if you are sad you can have funny thoughts,

2. And you can always heal your physical and mental scars, if you get right sort of help.

.
.
When you pick a book from mountain of appreciation arount it, your expectations become celestial; but this book certainly lived up to its aura.
.

It makes you sad at few junctures but lightens you up with hilarious prose throughout..
.

Eleanor is fighting to fit in the world she finds incompatible and she finds some help which pulls her out of deep pit.
.

Book is simple, soulful, full of funny phrases and highly enjoyable.
.

.Eleanor has very limited dimensions to her life, her emotions, her circle, her diet, her home interiors and everything that belongs to her. Then she finds an old man who has collapsed roadside and there her life starts to take a good turn.
.

.

Written in elegant and engaging prose, it leaves very less stains on happiness of the reader. It is about tragedy but it explores brighter things coming out of it.
.

Only thing which is uncharacteristic is initial build up to the story, part of which seems futile effort to fit in a character of rockstar.
.

Book is different and refreshing.

My rating- 4/5
